Wine For Asia 2010
28-29 October 2010 Sands Expo And Convention Centre
Wine For Asia is a brand celebrated for its focus on business and education for the wine trade and hospitality industry.
The new venue is at Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World.
WFA 2010, on its eighth edition, launched a Singapore Global Wine Personality this year and brought in Michel Rolland, the world’s foremost consulting winemaker. The initiative, the first of its kind in Asia, provided Singapore’s and Asia’s F&B trade and wine enthusiasts an opportunity to hear this influential Bordeaux-based oenologist, with hundreds of clients across 12 countries.
The WFA 2010 was smaller as compared to last year. Californian and New Zealand pavillions were not present this time as both held their own tastings a few weeks earlier. There was a Sake & Shochu Pavilion for the first time this year. Showcasing Japanese spirits, the dedicated pavilion showcased Japan's finest, and feature sake and shochu varieties that reflected this evolving industry. The increasing popularity of sake and shochu bodes well for this welcome addition.
A number of activities come with the WFA 2010 - Wine Business Forum , Master Tutorial with Certification in Landmark Australia, 1st Asian Riesling Forum as well as the ViniCasino 2010.
To the dismay of many exhibitors, the crowd is not strong – maybe due to the lack of MRT and awareness to the new venue and lack of publicity for the 2-day show.
Wine for Asia (WFA) and the Singapore Tourism Board had invited many guests to attend their Wine For Asia 2010 Roadshow Presentation Tasting Event. held at Vintry, Jaya 33, KL.
